Novar Estate in Scotland is owned by Erica and Ronnie Munro-Ferguson. ARDTALIA as it’s called - has been painstakingly converted and restored from an old coaching house and stable block and consists of the most wonderful accommodation with nine double/twin bedrooms all en-suite with heated floors and mirrors. It has a drying room for all your wet clothing (not that it is going to rain of course!) and boot room, and a dog food prep room. There is a large chest freezer for Barfers.
Novar is very special and we think this beautiful accommodation and surroundings will soon make anyone feel relaxed and ready for a holiday.
We all enjoy our food so there are 3 good meals including coffee, biscuits, tea and homemade cake whenever we have time to fit it in! For those that enjoy a drink you should bring your own alcohol as there isn’t a pay bar at Novar (we won’t think you have a problem. If you should you need to restock during the week – there is a supermarket some 20 minutes drive away) as we should enjoy ourselves as much as the dogs. Novar is set in 20,000 acres of moorland, woods, parkland, lakes, ponds and rivers all of which we can play on or in. Erica and Ronnie have cleared an island so we can send the dogs across the water for retrieves – there is a boat if it doesn’t all go according to plan and you end up by having to retrieve it yourself. They have also built a jumping lane and all just for us.
If you wish to see more of Novar you can visit the website http://www.novarestate.co.uk and I’m sure you’ll agree that this is just the most superb venue for our Gundog week.
