The Team

Philippa Williams Philippa Williams has owned and successfully worked a range of dogs which have included Golden Retrievers and Labradors, G.S.Ds, Boxers, a Collie and a Beagle, in Agility, Flyball, Obedience; ALL to a very high standard. Philippa not only works her Gun Dogs in the field but also competes with them and has had the pleasure of competing in the IGL (International Gun Dog League – which is a prestigious event run every year) qualifying with Monkey in 2008 and Mango in 2011. She has her CERT ED and lectured in Animal Behaviour and Handling, Kennel Craft and Grooming and is currently studying for the KCAI (along with her team) recognising not only the need but also the importance of keeping up to date with new ideas and ahead of the times alongside maintaining very high standards. Philippa demonstrates at Crufts every year with her team, where you can go and chat to them over the 4 days. If you wish to read more about Philippa – please see the attached profile.

Dawn Ash Dawn Ash is based at Philippa's and helps with the day to day management of Philippa's and Peter's dogs. Dawn also holds a BSC (Hons) Applied Animal Management and Behaviour Training degree which she studied for at Bishop Burton College. Dawn has then continued to gain valuable experience working alongside Philippa and is also doing the KCAI Accreditation - she is attending many accredited courses to enhance and develop her knowledge. Dawn is very busy running her own agility/obedience, puppy classes as well as taking private one to one lessons – and her home visits are proving immensely successful. We are currently waiting for Dawn to announce her business name and launch her own website... watch this space!

Amy Higgs Amy Higgs is the newest Student to join the team and has been with Philippa since 2010. Amy's background is GameKeeping, but Gun Dogs are her passion – she joined the team to pursue her desire to learn more about dogs, their behaviour and develop her training skills so she can take her dogs to the highest of standards. She owns Springers, a cocker (called Sherbutt) and a Levenghyl Labrador called Quando has joined her squad. Amy will be doing working tests and field trials with her team in the future – she is a naturally gifted dog handler and we have very high hopes for Amy. Alongside supporting and working with Dawn she too is also working towards her KCAI Accreditation.

Maxine Furnandiz Maxine Furnandiz joined as a Dogs for Life member back in 2006 when she first came on a dog holiday with her two Springer Spaniels, Joshua and Milly – she loved it so much she came on board to do the admin to help Philippa, and also took over the preparation of the 'Dog Tails' Newsletter. Her other passion is photography; so on the holidays we try to catch all those special moments we all have with our lovely dogs. We then use these fantastic shots for our web site and marketing material. Max also owns a Levenghyl Labrador called Wesley.
